Does RenewalNote connect to my bank?

No. There is no bank integration in the app, in any form. RenewalNote only knows what you type into it. That is the main reason the app exists.

Does RenewalNote cancel subscriptions for me?

No. Cancellation is completed directly with the provider. What RenewalNote does is Cancellation Prep: it collects the details you entered, such as the amount, the end date, and the account you used, then links you to the provider's own cancellation page.

Is RenewalNote a budgeting app?

No. There are no budgets, categories to maintain, spending targets, or financial advice. It adds up what you entered so you can see a monthly and yearly total, and that is as far as it goes.

Can I track free trials?

Yes, and it is the main thing the app is built for. Add the end date when you sign up, choose how much warning you want, and you will be reminded before the trial converts to a paid plan.

Can I track annual renewals?

Yes. Annual plans are often the most useful thing to track, because a year is long enough to forget a subscription entirely.

How will reminders work?

You choose the timing for each subscription: one day, three days, a week, or a custom number of days before the renewal. On that day the app sends a notification with the name, the date, and the amount you entered. You can add a second reminder for important ones.

Will iPhone and Android both be supported?

Both are planned. We are building for one platform first so the first version is good rather than shipping two that are merely adequate. We are not announcing an order or a date until we are confident in it.

Will RenewalNote be free?

There will be a free tier that is genuinely usable rather than a trial in disguise. Some features are likely to be paid later. We will say clearly what is free and what is not before anyone is asked to pay.

Can I delete my data?

Yes. In the app you will be able to delete a single subscription or clear everything without contacting anyone. Before launch, the only thing we hold is the email address you gave us for the waitlist, and you can ask us to remove it through the contact form.

Question 10

What happens if a reminder is delayed or not delivered?

Accepted Answer

It is possible, and we would rather say so. Notification delivery depends on your device, your notification permissions, and battery settings. No app can guarantee it. You can set more than one reminder for important renewals, and for anything expensive we would suggest keeping a backup reminder elsewhere.
